On Saturday, September 20, one of our very favorite fall festivals takes place: The James Memorial Art Center (JMAC) Art Fest. It is held annually in Recreation Park, in downtown Williston, located on the 400 block of 2nd Avenue West.
From 9:30am-4:00pm, art and craft vendors will be in the park displaying their special creations for your shopping pleasure and food vendors will be on-hand to take the edge off your appetite. Art activities for children and entertainment will be featured throughout the day.
There are a couple fun new features to Art Fest this year. The “Peculiar Produce Pageant” celebrates the most colorful, heaviest, ugliest and other attributes of your garden produce, while the “Savory Salsa Challenge” offers several titles for participants to compete for such as “Judges’ Fave” and “That’s Unique.” You can pick up entry forms at the CVB office at 212 Airport Road, at the JMAC or off our Facebook page (check the Photos section).
The festival’s annual art auction will be held at 1:00pm. Pieces from local and regional artists will be on display beginning at 11:00am. Check them out early and select your favorites to bid on!
The JMAC Art Fest is a wonderful family-orientated festival held in a mature park with many trees, a great playground and lots of space to spread out. Don’t miss this fall celebration of art in the park.
