Fall Festivities

Main Street Market fills the Hedderich's lot in downtown Williston with fresh produce and handmade goods every Saturday morning, July through September.

Cottonwood Forest Pumpkin Patch is a local fall favorite, featuring pumpkin picking, mazes, zip-lines, and plenty of family-friendly activities on the weekends throughout September and October.

Black's Maze of Dreams brings a rustic twist to autumn fun. Alongside its family-friendly corn maze, you’ll find campfires, tug-of-war, outdoor bowling, and a hands-on mining sluice. Open Saturdays and Sundays from 12 - 7 PM in September and October, it's the perfect spot to make seasonal memories.

Flannel Fest at Lewis and Clark State Park

Celebrate the changing of the seasons at Flannel Fest on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 11 AM - 4 PM at Lewis & Clark State Park

Lewis & Clark Big 10 Showdown – Walleye Tournament

Anglers, get ready for fall fishing at its finest! The Lewis and Clark Big 10 Showdown is set for September 26-27, 2025 at White Earth Bay on Lake Sakakawea.

Premier walleye tournament overview:
  • Two-person teams, 100 max
  • $1,000 entry, 95%+ payout
  • Flights: 8 AM – 4 PM and 9 AM – 5 PM
  • Live release, weigh your best 5 walleye per day
  • $30,000 first place prize based on a full field of 100 teams

Pheasant Season Opener

Fall is also prime time for upland hunting. In 2025, North Dakota’s regular pheasant hunting season opens October 11, 2025, and runs through January 4, 2026.

A special youth pheasant season takes place just beforehand, on October 4-5, 2025.

During the regular season, hunters can enjoy a daily bag limit of three roosters. It's best to check the official Game & Fish regulations for specifics before heading afield.
